Under Windows 8 there is unfortunately no function to change the profile picture of a guest account. However, you can change the picture yourself with a little trick. We'll show you how it's done.
Windows 8: Change the profile picture of the guest account
- Press the "Windows" and "E" keys simultaneously so that the Explorer opens.
- Enter the path "C: \ ProgramData \ Microsoft \ User Account Pictures" in the address bar above and confirm with "Enter".
- Here you will find the two files "guest.webp" and "guest.bmp". For security reasons, do not delete them, but simply rename the images "guest1".
- Now replace the two image files with the desired profile image. The images must be exactly 448 x 448 pixels in size.
- You can cut the two profile pictures, for example, with the pre-installed program Paint or with Paint.net. Make sure that your image is both .PNG and .BMP. Both pictures must have the title "guest".
- Once you have replaced the pictures and restarted the computer, your personal profile picture for the guest account appears.
