- Click on the Windows icon in the task bar and type "pointer" in the Metro interface.
- Select the term "mouse" that now appears.
- Switch to the "Pointer" tab.
- In Windows 8, you can deactivate the mouse shadow by removing the tick from the "Activate pointer shadow" option.
