Windows 8: keyboard locked - what to do?
If your keyboard is locked under Windows 8, this can have several reasons. We'll show you how to solve the problem.
Windows 8: Unlock keyboard
- Open the Control Panel and click on the "Ease of Access" category at the bottom left and open the "Ease of Access Center".
- If you select the "Change login settings" option on the far left, you will get an overview of numerous functions.
- There shouldn't be a single tick here unless you really need one of the accessibility features. Deactivate all unnecessary functions here and click on "OK" at the bottom right, even if nothing has been changed.
- Scroll down a bit and select the category "Make keyboard operation easier".
- Scroll down another piece and deactivate the option "Activate stroke delay".
- With the button "OK" your settings are saved again. If the keyboard still doesn't work, follow the instructions in the next paragraph.
