Windows 8: Change and create environment variables
If you want to change the environment variables for programming under Windows 8, you only have to do a few simple steps. This practical guide shows you how you can also create new environment variables.

To add new environment variables (such as Java, C or C ++), do the following:
- Move the mouse to the right and click on "Search".
- Enter the term "system settings" in the search field and then open the "advanced system settings".
- Switch here to the "Advanced" tab.
- To display the available environment variables, click on the "Environment variables ..." button below.
- Here you can now create new variables for the current user or the entire system. Simply click on the "New ..." button.
- When you are finished, you can save the changes by clicking "OK".
