Windows: Deactivate touch delay - how it works
In this practical tip, we will show you how to deactivate the keystroke on Windows. With this function, the system ignores your input if you only briefly press a key.
Disable keystroke delay on Windows 8
If you press the Shift key for more than 8 seconds, the keystroke is automatically activated in Windows 8. You can deactivate the function in the system settings.
- To do this, click on the Windows symbol in the menu bar and enter "Delay on hold".
- Then select the option "Activate or deactivate the stroke delay" on the right.
- You can switch between "On" and "Off" for the "Delay on hold" entry by tapping on it.
Windows: Deactivate keystroke in Windows 7
In Windows 7, deactivate the touch delay using the control panel:
- Tap on the Windows symbol and enter the term "keystroke" in "Search programs / files".
- Then click on the found option "Ignore repeated keystrokes with the keystroke delay".
- You are now in the Ease of Access Center. Remove the check mark for the first setting "Activate stroke delay".
- Confirm the settings by clicking "Apply" and "Ok".
