Windows: Activate automatic time change
You can activate the automatic time change manually in Windows 7 and 8. Before doing so, you should check your time zone again. In this practical tip, we show you what you need to consider.
Activate automatic time change under Windows
Windows usually automatically changes the time without delay. You will then also receive a notification of exactly when summer and winter time began. But if you want to be on the safe side, you should check the settings again:
- Call up the menu item "Change date and time settings" in the task bar at the bottom right.
- Then click on the "Change time zone" button in the "Date and time" tab.
- Check here whether your correct time zone is displayed. Then activate the option "Automatically switch clock to summer / winter time".
Tip: To ensure that the clock is always changed on time, you should compare your Windows clock with the atomic clock.
