Windows: change screen resolution - how it works
If you want to change the screen resolution of your PC, you can also do this using Windows standard tools. In this practical tip, we will show you how to do it easily under Windows 7.
Change screen resolution in Windows 7
- To open the screen resolution menu, right-click on the desktop and select "Screen Resolution" from the context menu.
- Now click on the "Resolution" drop-down button and select the desired setting using the slider.
- Please note that the value with the addition "(recommended)" for LCD monitors is the system's own and therefore usually the highest possible resolution of the display. With this resolution, the image and text are usually also best displayed.
- The settings only apply to one monitor. If you have several displays connected to your PC, you can select and configure them accordingly using the "Display" dropdown button.
By the way: In Windows 7, you can also set your screen backgrounds to alternate automatically.
