Windows Cardspace - what is it?
If the entry "Windows Cardspace" appears in the control panel, ask yourself what this is. We'll tell you.
Windows Cardspace - what can the service do?
- Windows Cardspace comes to your computer together with the Microsoft .NET Framework program. It is a service for creating, managing and publishing digital identities.
- Via Windows Cardspace, registrations on the web should be replaced by username and password. The "cards" in Windows Cardspace served as a kind of ID that you could submit to certain online services and thus confirm your identity.
- However, the service could not prevail, which is why it is no longer used by the current versions of the Microsoft .NET Framework. The service was completely discontinued in 2011.
