Windows: Cancel Chkdsk - so it'll work
Use the Chkdsk CMD command to check your hard drive for errors. Only a few steps are required to cancel the process. In this practical tip, we will show you exactly how to do this.
Windows: Cancel Chkdsk - so it'll work
With the CMD command Chkdsk your hard drive with all partitions is checked for errors. There are two ways to check the hard disk using Chkdsk:
- You can either use the CMD command Chkdsk or the check takes place on restart.
- If the check takes place when the PC starts, you should let the check run and not cancel it.
- If you started the check in Windows 10 using CMD, you can cancel it by pressing the key combination [Ctrl] + [C].
- However, we advise you to run the check completely.
We will tell you what you can do if Chkdsk runs under Windows 7 every time you start.
