Windows: Dropbox won't start - you can do that
With Dropbox, you have your files with you wherever you go. If the program no longer starts, this may be due to incorrect settings. In this practical tip we will show you how to fix the error.
Dropbox does not start on Windows - what to do?
Use the following tips to ensure that Dropbox starts up as usual:
- First, make sure you have the latest version of Dropbox installed. You can find these in our download portal.
- In order for the program to work correctly, you should make sure that you have enough storage space on your PC.
- There may also be a problem installing Dropbox. Uninstall Dropbox from your PC and delete all folders manually. Then install the current version and try again.
- Check whether your access data are correct.
- Try starting Dropbox as an administrator. To do this, right-click on the shortcut and select "Run as administrator".
- If this enables you to start Dropbox, delete the "temp" folder. You should find this in your main Dropbox folder.
