Windows Explorer: Files in Explorer are not updated
In this guide, we show you what you can do if files are no longer updated automatically in Windows Explorer.
Windows Explorer file update doesn't work - you can do that
- Click Start and type "regedit" in the search field. Confirm with "Enter".
- Navigate to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies folder. Right click on "Policies" and select "New".
- Click on "DWORD value (32 bit)".
- Select "NoSimpleNetIDList" as the name and right-click on "Change".
- Enter "1" as the value, confirm with "OK" and close the registry editor.
- If that does not help, open the Explorer with the key combination Windows Key + E and click on "Organize".
- Remove the checkmark under "Layout" under "Layout".
- Then select the "Folder and search options" under "Organize" and click on View.
- Select "Apply to folder" and confirm with "OK".
In the next practical tip, we will show you how to open several tabs in the Windwos Explorer.
