Windows: Fix error 193 - Here's how
If iTunes cannot be installed on Windows, error 193 occurs. We will show you how the error arises and how you can solve the problem.
iTunes: Fix Windows Error 193
Numerous DLL files are used by various programs under Windows. Error 193 occurs when iTunes cannot access it due to the corrupted DLL file.
- Press the [Windows] and [E] keys simultaneously so that the Explorer opens.
- Navigate here to the path "C: \ Windows \ System32" and look for the file "msvcr100.dll".
- Drag the file from the folder to the desktop. Confirm the process if necessary.
- Now open the Control Panel and under "Programs" select the item "Uninstall a program".
- Select the "Apple Application Support (32-Bit)" program and click the "Repair" button above.
- Follow the rest of the instructions and repeat the step for "Apple Application Support (64-bit)".
- If you start iTunes now, the problem is usually solved. If this is not the case, read on in the next paragraph.
- Attention: You can only delete the "msvcr100.dll" file from the desktop once iTunes has been successfully installed and the program can be started.
Windows error 193 cannot be fixed
- If iTunes still doesn't start, restart Windows. In some cases this will finally solve the problem. If that doesn't help either, you have to use harder methods.
- Remove iTunes completely from your computer, download and install the latest version of iTunes. The complete removal of iTunes is unfortunately not done with one click, you will find suitable instructions in our separate article.
