Fix Windows error code 0x0 - Here's how
Error code 0x0 occurs due to corrupted Windows installations, viruses or corrupt system files. We will show you how to fix this error below.
Fix Windows error code 0x0: step by step
Follow the instructions to exclude and fix sources of error for error code 0x0 step by step. You start with basic things and can become more and more specific if the problem persists.
- Download the "CCleaner" tool here.
- Install the program and then open it. Now click on the "Cleaner" tab and then on "Analyze".
- Warning: In the next step, your browser history may be deleted. If you still need certain things from this, save them beforehand, for example as bookmarks.
- Now click on "Start Cleaner" and wait until the process is finished.
- Now go to the registry in the tab list on the left. Select "Check for Errors". Once the search is done, click on "Troubleshoot". Then select "Fix all" and make a backup when requested by the CCleaner. Now wait again until the CCleaner is ready. You can then close the program.
- Now open your antivirus and do a full system check. If you don't have an antivirus, you can download one here. The antivirus program will now search for malware and delete any viruses. This can take a little longer.
- Now press the Windows symbol in the start bar and enter the term "cmd" in the search line. Right-click the search result. Now select "Run as administrator" and then confirm. Once you're in the console, type the following:
- sfc / scannow
- Then press "Enter". The program now checks the system files. This may take longer. If necessary, follow the on-screen instructions. Usually, the damaged files are automatically repaired. Once the process is complete, you can close the console again.
- In the end, you should still install all available Windows updates. To do this, go to the Windows Update window and then check for updates. If there are any, install them.
- After a restart, your computer should now function as usual.
If the error persists after that, you probably won't be able to avoid reinstalling Windows. How to do this is explained in a separate article.
