If your hard drive under Windows is full, you should quickly create space. Otherwise, the PC becomes slow and you can hardly save new files. In this practical tip, we will show you how to clear your hard drive.
Windows: Create space with on-board resources
- Uninstall any programs that you no longer need. To do this, open the Control Panel and select "Uninstall a program" under "Programs".
- It is advisable to sort the installed programs according to their size. Simply click on "Size" in the top bar. For tools that occupy several gigabytes of storage space, you should consider carefully whether you really need the respective program.
- Photo and video archives also consume an enormous amount of storage space. It is therefore worth moving as many pictures and videos as possible onto external storage media such as a USB stick or an external hard drive. Alternatively, you can also save some data online via cloud services.
