Windows 10: Add exception in the firewall
The following instructions apply to Windows 10. However, you can find your way around older versions of Windows just as well.
- Open the Control Panel and select the "Windows Defender Firewall" under the "System and Security" category.
- Now click on the "Allow an app or feature through Windows Defender Firewall" option on the left.
- Here you will find all the applications that are monitored by the firewall. If you don't find the program you want in the list, you can add it using the "Allow another app" button.
- Place a checkmark to the left of the program and checkboxes for public and private networks on the right.
- With the button "OK" your settings are saved and the exception is added.
- Note: If you cannot set a checkmark, you must first click on the "Change settings" button above.
