Starting Windows in Safe Mode can fix problems with your operating system or installed software. We will show you how to do this using a computer with Windows 7.
What is Safe Mode?
If your PC starts in safe mode, only the most necessary drivers and programs are loaded. This is an advantage if malware has installed itself on the autostart on your computer. This is the case with the so-called Federal Trojan. In safe mode, the corresponding file is not loaded and you can track down and delete the Trojan.
Start in safe mode
- Start up your computer.
- During the boot process, press the "F8" key until the menu with the extended start options appears.
- Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to select the "Safe Mode" option and confirm with "Enter".
The selection "Safe Mode with Network Drivers" also provided ensures that your operating system does not only start with "minimum occupation". In addition, all necessary drivers are loaded so that you can access your network and the Internet.
