Windows cannot create a homegroup

Set up home network group correctly
- In order for Windows to create a homegroup, the connection must not be a public network.
- Start the Control Panel and select the "Network and Sharing Center" under the "Network and Internet" category.
- If "Public network" and not "Private network" appears next to the current connection, simply set up the connection again. To do this, use the "Set up a new connection or network" option below.
Windows: Start homegroup service manually
If Windows does not create a home network group, the necessary services may not be available. You can also start this manually.
- Press the "Windows" and "R" keys simultaneously so that the "Execute" command opens.
- Enter "services.msc" here and confirm with "OK". Then the "Services" open.
- Find the Peer Network Group Mapping and Homegroup Provider services.
- If the "Status" line does not say "Started", right-click on the service and select the "Start" option.
