Windows: Insert math formulas with Math Input Panel
If you want to write and insert mathematical formulas under Windows, you can do this via the Math Input Panel, also known as the math input area. We show you how it works.
Math input area: Insert formulas in Word
- Click the Windows button at the bottom left so that the start menu opens.
- If you enter "math", you will get the "math input area".
- Here you can enter any mathematical characters or whole formulas with the mouse. From integrals to Pi - the system recognizes everything.
- If you have painted on the characters and numbers, you will see the recognized result in the preview at the top. If this is not yet correct, click on the "Correct selection" button on the right. If you then select a letter, several suggestions are made as to what it could be.
- Alternatively, click the "Delete" button on the right-hand side to remove individual areas. You can then paint them again using "Write".
- If the formula or characters have been recognized correctly, open a word processing or calculation program such as Word and click on the "Insert" button.
