Windows Movie Maker: No sound - you can do that
In Windows Movie Maker you can edit your videos and films in no time. However, if you have no sound, the video editing program may not recognize the soundtrack. In this practical tip you will find further tips for solving the error.
No sound in Windows Movie Maker - what to do?
Here are some tips for you to get the sound in Movie Maker to play properly:
- The soundtrack may not be recognized or may contain a format that Windows Movie Maker does not support. You can recognize this by a yellow exclamation mark.
- Test whether the sound of the respective video is played in another program. If so, there is a problem with the video file.
- You should also test other video files in Movie Maker. If no sound is output here either, the error is due to the program.
- You can adjust the volume under "Video"> "Video volume" in Windows Movie Maker. It may be turned all the way down.
- Maybe the system sound is simply switched off or the volume is turned down completely. So take a look at the volume icon on the taskbar.
- To ensure that you can always play sound, you should always have the latest sound driver installed. You can do this using Windows Update.
- If you have problems with the video format, you can easily change it with XMedia Recode so that the sound can then be played back without any problems.
