Reassign unallocated hard disk partition under Windows 7/8/10
Note: We recommend that you perform a back-up beforehand, as this intervention can also lead to data loss.
- Download the free "Partition Wizard" program and install it on your computer.
- The button "Launch Application" takes you to the main menu. All partitions are listed here, including the unallocated partition. This appears with the name "Unallocated"
- Mark the unallocated partition with a simple left click. The entry "Create" then appears in the upper symbol band.
- Here you can now specify which file system the new partition should have. If you want to connect the new partition to an old one, the file systems should match.
- With "OK" you accept the settings and the program reassigns the partition. Then the partition reappears as a hard drive in Windows Explorer.
