Windows: index folder
In Windows, you can optimize your searches by indexing the folders. In this practical tip we will show you how.
Index folders in Windows
- First open the Control Panel under Windows.
- Click on "Category" at the top right next to "Display" and select "Large symbols" to switch to the symbol display.
- In the symbol display, search for the entry "Indexing options" and click on it.
- In the "Indexing Options" window, click the "Advanced" button.
- Under Troubleshoot choose "Create New" to index your Windows folder. This process can take several minutes.
- As soon as the process is finished, confirm with "OK". You have now added an index to your Windows folders.
