Windows Phone 8.1: Copy & paste text
You can quickly copy and paste text in Windows Phone 8.1 in two ways. We present you with both options.
Mark and insert text individually
You can copy a certain text passage in this way, especially in the web browser or in PDF documents:
- Tap a word you want to copy.
- Two circles now appear at both ends of the word. Drag them to the beginning and end of the text you want to copy.
- Then the symbol for copy appears, which you must now tap.
- Now press your finger at the point where you want to insert the text and then select the insert symbol. You will find it above your keyboard.
- It may be that the text suggestion bar is in your way. If you swipe them to the side, you will also have access to the insert symbol.
Wherever there is no other option: Copy with the menu function
Unfortunately, there are also places where you cannot select your own text area. The following applies here: completely or not at all. This includes, for example, text messages or links in the browser.
- In this case, you not only have to tap the corresponding point, but press and hold it until the menu appears.
- Then tap on the copy icon.
- Paste again works as described above using the paste symbol above the keyboard.
- Tip: You can insert texts as often as you like. Your clipboard will only be deleted when your cell phone goes to sleep or when you copy something new.
