Windows Phone 8: Change SMS tone - how it works
If the default SMS ringtone from Windows Phone doesn't suit you, you can change it as you wish. In this guide, we show you how to choose a different SMS sound.
Change SMS ringtone on Windows Phone
To change the SMS tone under WP 8, you must first open the settings. You can find this in the list of all applications under the app "Settings" of the same name.
- Remain in the "System" tab and open the menu item "Ringtones + Sounds".
- Swipe to the bottom of the window and tap Manage app sounds.
- Select the "Messages - your provider" application from the list and tap on the "Notification sound" window. You will now find a list of sounds that you can set as an SMS tone.
