Backup for Windows Phone 8
Microsoft has completely revised the backup system for Windows Phone 8. You can now only synchronize your device via the cloud, a virtual storage device in the network. This enables you to save the following data:
- A list of installed applications
- The caller list
- Your design color
- The accounts you have set up on your device
- Your favorites in Internet Explorer
- Your cell phone settings
The backup is carried out automatically as soon as your cell phone is connected to the Internet via WLAN.
- Under Settings - Backup in the application list you can specify which data should be backed up.
- If you want to restore your phone, sign in with your Microsoft account at startup.
- The device then prompts you to select a backup file.
The backup of Windows Phone 8 is unfortunately a little poor. A major drawback is that the settings and data of the applications are not saved. And even saving the device settings doesn't always work smoothly. You can find more information on Windows Phone here.
