Minimize data consumption with Windows Phone - 5 tips
Below you will find tips on how to keep data consumption on the Windows smartphone as low as possible:
- Use WiFi at home and at work (where available) so that you don't consume the data volume.
- With "Data Optimization" you can limit the data traffic when surfing the Internet. There you will also find a list of apps with data consumption. Under "Browser data restrictions" you can select the option "Standard", "High" or "Automatic".
- Apps that run in the background consume not only electricity, but also data. To prevent this, open the "Power saving mode"> "Use" in the settings. Deactivate the option "Allow app to run in background".
- You can also completely deactivate the data traffic. Change in the settings to "Cellular + SIM" and deactivate the "Data connection" here. Please note that you will then not have an internet connection via mobile data.
- Emails are usually synchronized automatically. To prevent this, open the email account and the settings. Select the "synchronization settings" here. Then change the "Manual" option under "Download new content".
