Windows Phone: Own music as a ringtone
The Windows Phone comes with a variety of ringtones. You can also set your own music as a ringtone. We show the exact procedure in these instructions.
Add your own music as a ringtone - Windows Phone
First, copy the desired music file from your computer to your cell phone:
- Connect your Windows Phone to your computer and in Windows 7 click on Start and then "Computer". In Windows 8, click "Explorer" on the taskbar.
- Open your displayed mobile phone with a double click and switch to "Phone" and finally to "Ringtones".
- Find the music file you want on your PC and drag it to the ringtone folder.
- Now disconnect your cell phone from the computer and tap on "Settings" in the application list.
- Select "Ringtones and Sounds" and tap "Ringing". Under "User-defined" you will find the ringtone you just added. Tap to set it as a new sound.
