Windows Phone: Deactivate GPS
The GPS function on your Windows Phone consumes additional energy. If you deactivate the GPS function, you can conserve the battery power of your smartphone.
Instructions: Deactivate GPS on Windows Phone
Like many other smartphones, the Windows Phones are equipped with a GPS receiver for positioning / navigation. However, the GPS function on the Windows Phone gnaws at the battery power and should therefore be deactivated when not in use:
- From the home screen of the Windows phone, tap the start menu and select Settings.
- In the settings, you can go to the "Hardware" tab in the "System GPS" category.
- There you must now deactivate the GPS function with a finger gesture.
- Alternatively, deactivate the GPS function in the "Google Maps" application. To do this, select "Menu" in the application and then "Options".
- Here you can also deactivate the GPS with one finger movement.
- You can reactivate the GPS function in the same way at any time by repeating the process.
