Connect Windows Phone to TV - so it'll work
If you want to transfer the content from your Windows Phone to the TV, you only need to connect the two devices. We'll show you how it's done.
WLAN: Connect Windows Phone to TV
If your TV is a fairly modern device, it may support Miracast. In this case, transmission via WLAN is possible.
- If you swipe from right to left on the start page of your Windows Phone, the app list opens.
- Open the "Settings" here and select the category "External display".
- If your TV is compatible, you can select it from the list. Your WLAN must of course be switched on.
- The devices are then connected to each other. You can now transfer content such as videos, pictures or the entire screen.
Connect Windows Phone to TV - are there other options?
- HDMI: Unfortunately, the Windows Phones are not yet HDMI-compatible. However, future models could be equipped with it.
- Chromecast: Unfortunately, support for Chromecast is also not offered. Chromecast is (currently) only compatible with iOS and Android.
- HD-10: Microsoft is currently developing its own HDMI stick for televisions. This receives the data from your Windows Phone via WLAN and forwards it to the TV via HDMI. However, the stick will not be presented until autumn 2014. See this article for more information.
