Windows Phone: Customize homepage
You can customize the start page of your Windows Phone to your taste. We'll show you what options you have.
Windows Phone: Arrange and customize the start page
First, you can sort your apps on the homepage and adjust the size of the tiles.
- As of Windows 8.1, you can choose whether you want to arrange your apps in two or three rows of tiles. In the Settings, tap "Home and Design" and scroll down. Here you can activate "Show more tiles".
- Press and hold a tile on the start page until the view changes. Now you can move the app with your finger and change the size by tapping the arrow in the lower right corner.
- You can also detach a tile from the start page by holding it down and then tapping the button in the top right corner.
- To add an app from the application list to the home page, press and hold and then tap "Home".
Windows Phone Home: Change Design
You can also change the color of the tiles on your home page. In Windows Phone 8.1, you can even set a photo as a tile background.
- In the Settings, tap "Home and Design". Here you can first determine whether your background should be light or dark by tapping on the desired option under "Background".
- Below you can choose an accent color that the tiles on the start page should have.
- As an alternative to single-colored tiles, you can select a photo under "Home page background" in Windows 8.1.
