Windows: Add "Send to" - Here's how
Additional commands can easily be added to the "Send to" menu in Windows. This allows you, for example, to send documents directly to a printer or to quickly copy files to a specified target folder. In this practical tip we will show you how.
Extend Windows "Send To" menu
- Open the "Run" window of Windows with the key combination [Windows] + [R].
- Enter the command "shell: sendto" (without quotes).
- A folder opens automatically, in which all links created so far are contained in the "Send to" menu.
- To add another entry, first create a shortcut from the program or target folder.
- Now drag the link to the "Sendto" folder.
- The new command appears directly in the context menu.
Include printers in Windows in the "Send to" menu
To add a printer to the "Send To" menu, you have to do a little differently:
- Start the "Run" dialog again and first enter the "shell: sendto" command.
- Then open the window again and send the command "shell: PrintersFolder".
- Drag the printer to the "Sendto" folder that you want to link to in the "Send To" menu.
