Reinstall Windows Store - Here's how
If the store no longer works properly under Windows 10, you can reinstall the app. We'll show you how to do it step by step.
Windows 10: Remove and reinstall the store
- Open the Start menu in Windows 10 and type "PowerShell".
- If "Windows PowerShell" appears, click the entry with the right mouse button.
- Select the option "Run as administrator" and then confirm with "Yes".
- Now enter the command "Get-Appxpackage -Allusers" and confirm it with the Enter key.
- You will now receive a list of all installed apps. The Windows Store is pretty far down.
- Once you have found the entry, copy the value behind "PackageFullName". Depending on the version, this differs from the Windows Store (see screenshot).
- Now enter the following command: Add-AppxPackage -register "C: \ Program Files \ WindowsApps \ XXX \ AppxManifest.xml" -DisableDevelopmentMode
- For the placeholder XXX set the value of PackageFullName, in our example the line is "Microsoft.ZuneVideo_3.6.19761.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe".
- If you have confirmed the command, the Windows Store will be reinstalled.
In the next practical tip, we will show you how to uninstall the standard Windows 10 apps. A complete deinstallation from the Windows Store should not be carried out.
