Windows: Check time and date
If there are problems with Windows or online services, you should check the time and date you have set. We'll show you exactly how this works.
Windows: Check time and date
If you want to download and install updates for Windows or log in to a website, the correct time and date is often necessary. If the information is incorrect, the system cannot process the order.
- If you click on the date and time in the task bar at the bottom right, a small window opens.
- Select the "Change date and time settings" option here.
- You can adjust the values manually using the "Change date and time" button.
- Alternatively, switch to the "Internet time" tab and click on the "Change settings" button.
- The current time is requested from Windows via the "Update now" button.
- Wait a few seconds for the process to finish. You can then close the window with "OK".
In the next practical tip, we will show you how to activate the automatic time change under Windows.
