Windows: Deactivate warning when the hard drive is full - how it works
As soon as one of your hard drives becomes full, Windows displays a warning in the task bar. We show you how to deactivate this in our practical tip.
Windows: Disable disk space warning
You can deactivate the storage space warning with a little intervention in the Windows registry. For security, you should create a backup beforehand.
- Press the key combination [Windows] + [R] and enter the command "regedit" in the Run dialog.
- Confirm the warning of the user account control with "Yes".
- In the Windows registry, navigate to the path "HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies".
- Then right-click on an empty space in the window and select "New"> "Key". Enter "Explorer" as the name.
- Right-click the window again, but this time under "New" select the entry "DWORD value (32-bit)". Enter "NoLowDiskSpaceChecks" as the name.
- Finally, double click on the new entry and set the value to "1". Confirm your entry with "Ok" and restart your computer.
