Windows: WLAN networks are not displayed - what to do?
In this practical tip, we will tell you what you can do if you do not see the WLAN networks under Windows.
WLAN networks are not displayed under Windows - you can do that
- Make sure your WiFi is turned on. You may have to turn this on with a keyboard shortcut, as is often the case with laptops.
- Make sure you haven't turned on Airplane Mode in Windows 8. This deactivates all radio connections. If necessary, deactivate it by clicking on the radio network symbol and then setting the option "Off" under "Airplane mode".
- You may also be too far from the access point. Therefore, reduce the distance.
- Also make sure that the access point is turned on and that the connection is allowed. Contact the administrator for further assistance.
- The access point you want to use may also be overloaded because too many devices are currently accessing it.
- Make sure that the Internet connection is not restricted or even blocked by a firewall.
- The WLAN card driver may be out of date. Therefore, connect a LAN cable and download the latest version of your WLAN driver. This enables you to rule out a defect in the entire network card at the same time.
- There may be a problem with your router or modem. Therefore, restart the device.
- If these tips don't help, either a system restore or a complete reinstall of the operating system can help.
