WinRAR error: Unexpected end of archive - you can do that
If WinRAR reports an unexpected end of archive, a RAR or ZIP file is usually damaged and therefore cannot be unpacked. We'll show you how to fix it.
Unexpected end of archive in WinRAR: How to solve the problem
- The error mostly occurs with archives that have been split into several parts. Check whether one of the files in the archive is missing.
- The archive may also be damaged. If you have downloaded the files from the Internet, check that the files are all the correct sizes and that the archive is complete.
- Changing the name of a file can also be to blame. If you have changed a name, restore the original file.
WinRAR: Repair unexpected end of archive
- Open the archive and click on "Tools" in the menu bar at the top. Select the "Repair archive" option and confirm the process with "OK".
- Unpacking on another computer can also help here. It is not exactly clear why this solves the problem. However, some users reported success.
- If none of this helps, you can completely uninstall WinRAR. Then download the current version of WinRAR. Download the entire archive again.
