WinZip: Split file

By splitting a file with WinZip, you break up a large archive into several parts. You can determine the size of the individual files in the multi-part archive and thus easily send the smaller files by email, burn them to a CD or upload them to a one-click hoster - there are often size limits here.
Large archives very small - How to split files with WinZip
Unfortunately you cannot create multi-part archives with WinZip for Mac, Android and iOS. With the Windows variant (64-bit version) you split a file as follows:
- Open WinZip.
- Click on the "Settings" tab at the top (see screenshot, step 1). Under "Multi-part archive" you will find the size for the parts. You can select presets from the list, for example 650 MB for a CD or 4.7 GB for a DVD. If you select "Custom size", you can set any file size below.
- Now click on the "Extras" tab at the top and here on the left on "Multi-part archive" (see screenshot, step 2).
- A folder selection window opens. Here you specify the storage location for the ZIP parts and the file name. For example, if you select "CHIP", the individual files next to CHIP.zip will be called CHIP.z01, CHIP.z02 and so on. With WinZip you have now split a large file into several sub-archives.
