Wire: This is how the chat app works
The Wire app doesn't work like a classic chat app. We therefore show how to use the wire messenger correctly.
- If you have registered with Wire, you will see a list of your contacts or suggested contacts. Place your finger on the center of the screen and swipe down. Now you can search for your friends by name or email address.
- Tap on your own name at the top, go to the settings in the top right, switch your profile picture with a tap in the middle and adjust the color of the background below. With a swipe it goes back again.
- If you select a contact, you must first send them a link request. You cannot write to your friend without confirmation.
Wire: These functions can be found in the chat
Once a contact has confirmed your request, you can finally start the chat:
- To write a message, tap the bottom of the screen at the bottom. The keyboard and an input line then open. The message is sent directly using the "Enter" or "Return" key.
- Place your finger on the bottom left corner of the screen and swipe right. Here you can call the contact via the app, send and take pictures and send a ping. The ping has a similar function to "poking" on Facebook. You will be informed that your chat partner has "pinged", so to speak has sent you an empty message. While this makes sense for memories, it can also be annoying.
- Place your finger on the center of the screen and drag it up. Now you can block the contact at the bottom right or invite them to a group conversation at the bottom left.
In the next article we will show you how to block unwanted contacts at Wire.
