The Witcher 2: Malena - so you solve the quest

When you encounter Malena in "The Witcher 2" there are several ways to complete the quest. This practical tip shows you how you can solve this.

Malena - the quest in The Witcher 2

In the first act of The Witcher 2, you will receive a side quest from Malena.

The quest also results from the plot. In order to get this quest you need to be in Bindegarn.
In Bindegarn you can see how the elf Malena is accused of belonging to the "Scoia'tael" group and being responsible for the death of soldiers. In order to uncover the case, Geralt goes into the forest with Malena and some guards.
Depending on your decision, you will receive up to 325 experience points and 100 ores for the quest. If you want to get more experience and money early in the game without playing a lot, you can also use Cheats in The Witcher 2.

Caution - the next paragraph contains spoilers!

Be well prepared. During the quest you will have to fight some Nekkers.
In the cave you will find the security guards as well as the Nekkern. These were not killed by monsters, but by arrows from the Scoia'tael.
Solution one: Tell that the security guards were killed by the Scoia'tael. Malena will then deny that you were involved.
If you don't believe Malena, the guards will execute the elf.
If you decide to believe the elf, she will lead you further into the forest to clear everything up. However, this creates an ambush. You have to kill all Scoia'tael. Again, the elf is executed at the end of the quest when all Scoia'tael are defeated.
Solution two: If you choose to lie for the elf Malena, Geralt explains to the guards that the other guards would have been killed by the monsters. To thank Malena Geralt invites you to a waterfall in the forest. However, Scoia'tael is also waiting for you there.
If you chose to help Iorweth in the quest "The Kingslayer", the Socia'tael will speak to you.
If you haven't helped Iorweth in The Kingslayer, the Scoia'tael will attack you and Malena will flee. If you want to search for Malena, you can find it in the mental asylum. Now you can decide how you want to deal with the elf: you can kill it, you can hand it over to the guards or you can let it go.
