Find The Witcher 3: Easter Eggs
In the new role play "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" by CD Projekt Red some Easter Eggs are hidden. You will find the funniest of them with their location in this article.
1. The Witcher 3 - Easter Egg: Tyrion Lannister
The first Easter Egg from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt refers to a specific scene from Game of Thrones with the character Tyrion Lannister.
- Go to Kaer Almhult. You will find Kaer Almhult on the Skellige Islands on a small island west of the "Eldberg Lighthouse".
- From the jetty, follow the path to the main gate of the prison.
- Directly behind the main gate you will find a destroyed entrance to the dungeon on the right.
- In the last cell you will find a key to the cell next door.
- Pirates are scattered all over the island on the way to this cell. These have levels 12 to 14. Accordingly, your level should at least be in this area.
- If you unlock the cell next door you will find a dead dwarf who looks like Tyrion Lannister from Game of Thrones.
- The Easter Egg alludes to a scene from season one, in which Tyrion is imprisoned in a sky cell.
2. The Witcher 3 - Easter Egg: Wilhelm scream
The second Easter Egg is a classic that has been used in many films and games.
- The Wilhelm scream first appeared in a film in 1951 and has been used in over 300 films since then.
- Some games also use the Wilhelm scream. For example the Lego Star Wars Video Game, Medal of Honor or Darksiders.
- Now the Wilhelm scream was also used in The Witcher 3. However, they cannot influence when and whether you hear it.
- Geralt sometimes lets out a scream when it falls from a higher cliff. Unfortunately, he screams very rarely, and only if you die from the jump and don't fall into the water.
3. The Witcher 3 - Easter Egg: Fallout
In this Easter Egg CD Projekt Red refers to a video game by another producer - Fallout by Bethesda.
- One of the most famous video game quotes is "War - war never changes". The quote comes from Bethesda's post-apocalyptic video game series "Fallout".
- In The Witcher 3 there are some NPCs who have the same opinion and partly give the quotation in its exact wording.
- In addition to the wording "War - war never changes" there is also the variation "War - it just never changes".
- The NPCs mean the war of the northern kingdoms against Nilfgaard. This war is the starting point for The Witcher 3 and is responsible for poverty in Velen.
- You can find an NPC that gives the quote once in Velen, the no man's land. You can see the exact location on the screenshot.
4. The Witcher 3 - Easter Egg: The Witcher 2 tattoo
If you played the predecessor "The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings", you may discover another Easter Egg.
- For this Easter Egg, you must have played the predecessor and imported The Witcher 2 save in Part 3.
- In addition, you must have successfully completed the "Hangover" quest in the previous version. You will find this in the first act in Flotsam.
- If you have fulfilled these conditions, you will find a temporary tattoo on Geralt's neck in some sequences, which alludes to the night in the predecessor.
To get to the Easter Eggs you have to do some fights in The Witcher 3. You can find the best tips for this in another article.
