Disable WLAN on the notebook - how it works
If you do not currently need the WLAN on your notebook, you can deactivate it and thus save the battery. We show you how it works.
Deactivate the WLAN chip on the notebook
You can switch off the WLAN connection in different ways:
- Key: You can find a key on almost every notebook with which you can switch off WLAN. You will usually find them in the top row of the keyboard and must also press the [Fn] key (bottom left). The button shows either a WLAN symbol or an airplane.
- Windows 8: Click on the connection icon with the five receive bars in the lower right of the task bar. Under the category "WiFi" you can simply flip the switch to "Off".
