Connect WLAN printer to network - how it works
If you have bought a WLAN printer, you only need to connect it to the network. We'll show you how it's done.
Connect the WLAN printer to the network
The setup of a wireless printer differs from model to model. We try to give you the most general instructions possible:
- First of all you have to establish a connection between your PC and the printer, or your router and the printer. This can be done using either a USB or LAN cable. With very modern printers, it is sufficient to log on to the printer via WLAN.
- If the devices are connected to each other, you must install the associated software. You can usually find these on the supplied CD. If there is no data carrier, you can also download the software from the manufacturer's website.
- The printer and PC are then connected. The WLAN printer now works in your network and can receive and execute print jobs from the PC.
In the following practical tips, we will show you how to set up your WLAN printer under Windows and Mac, as well as in your Fritzbox.
