Wi-Fi reception in your own room is usually still very good. But the further you go from the router, the weaker the connection. So that you can stay connected on the terrace or in the basement in the future, we will give you some tips on how to improve the range of your WLAN.
- It is best to place your router high up so that there are no obstacles in your way. In addition to the router, you should not place any other technical devices such as microwaves or telephones.
- For an even better range, use a repeater. Simply connect it to your router using the WPS button. Make sure that the location is as free as possible.
- Insider tip for Android users: In order for your smartphone to automatically switch between your router and the repeater, you have to make a few settings. Open the Settings app and tap on the "More" option under "WLAN". There you activate the "Intelligent network change".
Stronger WiFi reception thanks to more antennas
If your WiFi reception remains very weak despite all the tips, the problem is most likely with your router. In this case, you should consider upgrading.
