WLAN router flashes & no Internet: you can do that
If your WLAN router flashes and no longer sends a WLAN signal, there can be several reasons. We'll show you how to solve the problem.
First aid: router flashes, WLAN is gone
- First, take the router completely off the power. Reconnect the device after waiting a few seconds. In some cases this solves the problem.
- If the same problems occur again, take a look at the manual from the router. It describes exactly what the problem is. Simply google the model number of the router with the keyword "manual".
- Alternatively or in addition, you can open the web interface from the router. Log in and look for the "Events" option, the "Event Monitor" or similar functions. There is also a record of the problem.
Router flashes: provider down
- If the router no longer receives an Internet signal and starts to flash, in many cases this is not due to the router, but to your Internet provider. If there is a malfunction, there is little you can do about it yourself.
- You can check whether there is a problem with your provider in the following practical tips: Telekom, Kabel Deutschland, 1 & 1, Unitymedia, Kabel BW. If the malfunction is a failure, there is only one thing left to do: wait.
Router only flashes: last rescue reset
- If all of this does not help, you can reset the router to the factory settings in the last instance. If the problem arose with the router on its own, a reset is not very promising.
- In the following practical tips you will find instructions for routers of the brands and models FritzBox, Speedport, TP Link, DLink, Netgear, Connect Box and Technicolor.
