WiFi connection from smartphone breaks - what to do?
If the WiFi connection with the smartphone is constantly interrupted, this is one thing above all: annoying. This practical tip shows you how to proceed in such a case.
1. Check the WLAN connection
Once the connection is broken, you should quickly find out the cause. Proceed as follows:
- First go to the settings of your smartphone and click on the WiFi network.
- Check the status: Is the connection disconnected or are you still connected?
- If the connection is disconnected, try to connect again and enter the security key.
- If a login is not possible, you must visit the router.
Check the WiFi connection on the router: does it have a signal?
If the internet connection on the smartphone is interrupted, the router is often responsible for this:
- Check whether your router is sending a WLAN signal. You can usually recognize this by an LED diode and in the router settings.
- If this is not the case, check whether your Internet and LAN connection is stable.
- If there is no connection or only a LAN connection, you should restart the router.
- If there is still no signal afterwards, contact your provider as there is probably a technical problem.
Still no WiFi connection on the smartphone?
Then return to your smartphone. Does it have a WiFi connection? If not, do the following:
- Restart your smartphone and check whether there is a connection now.
- If this is not the case, return to the settings, establish a new connection to the WLAN and enter the password again.
- If the router shows a WLAN connection, you can now log in.
Sometimes a particularly bad connection does not make it possible to log in with the smartphone. In the following articles you can read how to find and eliminate the sources of interference via the app and how to identify other possible sources of error.
