Limiting WiFi time - is that possible?
If you limit your WiFi time, your children can only surf the net for a certain period of time. We explain how to do it.
Limit WLAN: Change router settings
Regardless of whether you have a router from Telekom or a Fritz-Box, you must always observe the following:
- You need the IP address of your router (can be found in the manual and usually also on the back of the router). Enter this in the URL of your browser.
- Now you will be asked for your device password (the standard password is in the manual, if you have changed it you have to take your new password). You are now in the router menu.
- You may still need your internet access data (you can be asked if you log in for the first time).
WLAN settings: Limit time
Once you have reached the menu, you still have to call up the WLAN settings in order to limit the time there.
- Usually there is the entry "Network" in every router menu, which you can find on the left side of the screen. Click on it.
- Then click on "WLAN".
- Change the WLAN settings from "On" or "Off" to "Time-controlled".
- Now you can decide whether you want to select "Daily" or "Individual" for the switching times. With "Daily" you can enter the desired times of day for each day, with "Individual" you can select the individual days yourself and of course also set times of day.
- Once you have set everything up to your requirements, click on "Save" to save all the settings made.
- You can then log out again.
