Find Thunderbird profile in Windows 8: Show folder options
To see the profile folder, you need to change something in the Windows 8 folder options to make it visible. There are two ways to get there: Via the Explorer ribbon or via the Control Panel:
- In the Explorer ribbon, first click on "View" and there on "Options" / "Change folder and search options" (see image). The familiar settings window opens in which practically nothing has changed compared to Windows 7.
- In the Control Panel, click on Appearance and Personalization / Folder Options and you are in the same settings window as in Option 1.
Show hidden folders to see the Thunderbird profile
In the settings window click on "View" and under "Advanced Settings" look for the entry "Show hidden files, folders and drives". Place a marker there, click OK and close the window.
