Change Word to German - so it'll work
If you underline every second word in Word, you should change the language to German. We'll show you how it's done.
Change Word to German
For example, if you typed a few sentences in English, Word automatically changes the language to English. If you then start writing again in German, Word will not change the language in some cases.
- Go to the "Review" tab at the top of the menu bar.
- Under the "Language" category you will now find the "Language" button of the same name.
- Select the "Set language for proofing tools" option here.
- Look for the entry "German" in the list and click on the "OK" button. Then Word is switched back to German.
Word installed in English - what to do?
If you have Word installed in English, for example, you can change the language at best. Alternatively, you only have to reinstall or buy an office language pack for around 20 euros.
- Click on the "File" button in the top left and select the "Options".
- Go to the "Language" category and select "German" from the list below.
- Click the button "Add" and "set as standard".
- With the button "OK" your settings are saved. After a restart, Word should appear in German.
- If this is not the case, reinstall Microsoft Office in German. If this is not possible, you still have to buy an office language pack for around 20 euros.
