Edit Word document at the same time - how it works
If you want to edit documents in Word at the same time, this is only possible under certain conditions. We'll show you step by step how it works.
Word: Edit documents at the same time
To edit at the same time, you either need a OneDrive account or a server on which Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 or newer is installed. Alternatively, you can also work with the Office web apps.
- Open the desired Word document and switch to the "File" tab in the top left.
- You can now save the document in OneDrive or SharePoint under the "Share" category.
- If you save your document on a server with SharePoint, the employees can open the file from the location of your choice.
- Use OneDrive, log in to the OneDrive website. Then select the document and click "Open in Word".
