Reduce Word documents to one page
In Word, you can shrink documents to one or more pages if a few lines have slipped to the next page and you don't know how to shorten the document. The function is very well hidden in all versions of Office. We'll show you how to find and use them.
Office 2013 and 2010: Reduce Word documents to one page
In Word 2013 and 2010, you have to slide the function into a tab in order to use it:
- Click "File" in the top left. Select the option "Options" in the lower left corner.
- Click on "Customize Ribbon" in the menu on the left.
- At the top of the list, choose Choose Commands> All Commands. Now search for the item "Reduce by one page" and click on it (see picture).
- Click on the "New tab" button at the bottom right and then on "Add" in the middle.
- With a click on "Rename" you can give the new tab an impressive name such as "Shrink page". Then click "OK", you will find the newly created tab with the command permanent in the top menu bar in Word.
Office 2007: Find command "Reduce to one page"
- Click on the button with the Office symbol in the top left.
- Select the "Print preview" under "Print".
- Here you will find the command "Reduce by one page". If you want to access it faster, right-click on it and select "Add to Quick Access Toolbar".
Office 2003: Shrink Word documents
- Click on "Tools" at the top of the menu and then on "Commands".
- Under the "Tools" tab you will find the "Customize" item.
- Here you will find the "Reduce by one page" command in the list, which you can simply drag to the toolbar with the left mouse button pressed.
