Word: Compare documents - how it works
This practical tip shows you how to compare two different documents in Microsoft Word.
Compare documents with Microsoft Word
- Click Review at the top of the Word ribbon.
- Now click on the "Compare" tab and then on "Compare ...".
- Now a pop-up window called "Compare documents" opens. In the left field, look for the original document. To the right, select the older or newer version of your document.
- Then click "OK". A new Word document opens in which the two selected documents can be compared.
The "Compare documents" option is only possible from Word 2007, which was used in this practical tip.
